A croft, a kettle, a small pile of stones.
Skye Rocks is run from a low white croft on the Trotternish peninsula, half a mile from the sea. We walk the beaches early, before the day coaches arrive, and bring back only what the tide has already loosened.
We never collect from protected sites, never take more than a small handful from any single shore in a season, and never quarry. If a stone is better off where it lies, it stays.
Each parcel is washed in rainwater, dried by the Rayburn, wrapped in undyed Hebridean wool, set in a small pine box and posted with a hand-written note. It arrives in seven to ten days within the UK, two to three weeks worldwide.
Royal Mail tracked. UK £3.50, Europe £8, rest of world £14. Free over £60.
If your stone arrives chipped, photograph it and write to us — we'll send another by next post, no need to return.
Every stone is labelled with the beach, the rock type, the approximate geological age, and the date it was found.
